Managers who express unbridled joy when pitching new projects are more likely to get buy-in from their employees and see their efforts succeed, according to an Academy of Management Journal article.

But managers should rein in their visible enthusiasm after a few seconds and pay attention to when they show it, caution the authors of “Can Joy Buy You Money? The Impact of the Strength, Duration, and Phases of an Entrepreneur’s Peak Displayed Joy on Funding Performance.”
